Recovery from Religious and Spiritual Conflict

2210517635Achieving spiritual fulfillment isn’t always straightforward.

It’s not uncommon for people these days to find themselves in conflict between the religious or spiritual principles they learned in childhood and the reality of corruption and abuse endemic to many of the organizations that taught them these wonderful principles.

For some, it means leaving the comfort and acceptance of their family’s religion and bearing the disapproval or outright rejection it brings. For others, they’re forced to leave communities and leaders that have been seen to be abusive or cult-like. Some people never had a spiritual or religious tradition in the first place and have begun to notice its absence in their lives.

There are those who have long been on a conscious spiritual journey but lost their way due to over-reliance on a guru, teacher, or group they’ve belonged to. These people have been betrayed by religious or spiritual leaders or have had ‘their eyes opened’ to the realities of a community they are now forced to leave because it’s obviously become (or always was) a cult.

Let me help you find clarity and contentment.

For the past 2r years, I’ve helped people process their spiritual and religious conflicts.

Many of these clients have been disaffected Catholics, having trouble reconciling their love for the Divine with the church’s widespread abuse, hierarchical structure, and corruption.

But I’ve also worked with former Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Buddhists, Seventh-Day Adventists, and other confused seekers looking for clarity. This has included people coming out of what we might call ‘cults.’

Drawing on my own experience…

…recovering from involvement in a harmful cult in the 1970s and early 1980s, I can help you understand your drive toward the Divine and Transcendent.

Together, we’ll disentangle this pure desire for answers, from your previous involvement with religious or spiritual groups that no longer fit you. As we separate truth from dogma, you’ll start to move towards a spiritual life based on verifiable personal experiences rather than groupthink. You can discover your innate connection to the Divine, outside of the context of a religious or spiritual organizaiton.
