Frequently Asked Questions

What are the specialties of your practice?

(1) My primary specialty is total transformation and the discovery of Awareness that is deeper than thought, emotion or sensation:

People want to awaken to their total potential as both finite and infinite and transform their entire lives.  This includes people already at a high level of spiritual integration or awakening, who are having a difficult time integrating the spiritual and the material ‘worlds.’ For those not experienced in spirituality, this would mean a total integration of Consciousness, ego and the body, and living authentically within that integration, connected to Nature, and able to Dream new things into Reality by envisioning them and carrying them out.

(2) I specialize in anxiety issues.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders and have helped many people live calmer, more present and focused lives.  I’ve worked with people suffering from OCD, panic disorders, PTSD and longer-term anxiety.

(3) I specialize in men’s issues.

Men have a peculiarly difficult time accessing their feelings and being able to talk about the things that bother them.  I help that process along by asking probing questions and fostering a dialog which many men find helpful.

What other services do you provide?

I offer individual and group sessions for mentoring, with an emphasis on the principles of total life transformation, spiritual Awakening and a life integrated with Nature.

For those clients I’ve worked with for six months or longer, I also offer sessions done outside in my permaculture garden.

I recently added the service of helping you clear out and organize possessions from your home and wardrobe that no longer serve you, and whose presence creates stress, clutter, and confusion in your life. This we do in your own home, dealing with the psychological attachments as we declutter.

Please note: I no longer do drug and/or alcohol evaluations, nor do I work with clients who are involved in the criminal court system or on probation. I no longer keep detailed notes for use in filing long term Social Security Disability claims either; if you know that’s what you need, please find a more traditional therapist. Also, I don’t produce letters or documents for court, attorneys, or insurance companies.

Do I really need help? I can usually handle creating and reaching my goals and solving my problems.

Everyone goes through challenging situations and times.  While you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you’ve faced, there’s nothing wrong with seeking expert support when you need it to reach the important goals. In fact, my services are often used by successful people who have worked hard to achieve material success and have enough self-awareness to realize they need a helping hand.  That is something to be admired. Our relationship provides long-lasting benefits, regular support, and provides you with someone who holds you accountable to yourself.

Why do people hire you and how do I know if your work is right for me?

People have many different motivations for working with a mentor.   Some may be going through a major life transition (divorce, death in the family, new job, etc.), or are not handling stressful circumstances well.  Some require the expertise of a consultant to help them solve a range of other issues such as feeling empty or despondent, anxiety, relationship problems, spiritual conflicts and creative blocks.

Does what we talk about remain confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is one of the most important components of our relationship.  These services require a high degree of trust with sensitive subject matter that is usually not discussed anywhere but in my office, unless YOU choose to disclose it elsewhere.  I have learned to be extremely discreet and secretive because it is what clients need, and what the laws of Pennsylvania and the United States demand.  I will give you a permission form if you want me to disclose confidential information to someone. By the ethical guidelines of my professions, I cannot release any information about our work without obtaining your written permission on that special form, unless you are or have been abusing a child or elder, or are in imminent danger of homicide or suicide.  This confidentiality holds in all situations except a direct court order by a judge (not just a subpoena), and even continues posthumously. In other words, the confidentiality agreement holds even if I should outlive you.

What is your schedule of fees?

there are now affordable options for you starting at $40 per hour, based on income verification, and sliding up to $200 per hour.  Pay what you can afford: each hour-long session costs your annual gross salary divided by 1,000. (Or your annual family income multiplied by .001 = your weekly session fee.  So $40,000 x .001 = $40; $100,000 x .001 = $100; and $200,000 x .001 = $200.  Got it?).  I don’t go lower than $40 per hour, given that I have 20 years’ experience.  If you can’t afford weekly sessions, we can do bi-weekly or monthly sessions.

If you have even more limited income than above,  I offer a unique gift/donation basis. This work is done entirely on a gift basis via your donation of: barter for goods, and barter for services. Because of licensing laws and ethical constraints, I can’t offer traditional therapy on a barter basis when you’re using insurance. However, as of 1/1/21, I am offering my mentoring services towards ‘waking up’ or ‘total transformation’ on a donation basis. The world economy is changing, people often have less currency (in whatever form), and don’t make enough in currency to meet regular expenses sometimes.

How donation/gift/offering works when we do Mentoring work together.  I offer you one-hour sessions, or 1.5 hour group sessions on a gift basis.  In exchange for my gift to you, you offer an equivalent gift or service that I need that takes you one hour to create or complete: gardening in my permaculture garden, preparing me a wholesome plant-based meal, technical help recording webinars, etc. (For clarification, I do not accept bodywork, physical therapy, chiropractic, massage or other personal-contact therapy for gifts/donations/offerings.)

Insurance coverage?

I am in-network with Aetna (and their affiliates Meritain and Trustmark) and United Healthcare (also their affiliates All Savers, Optum and United Behavioral Health) and accept their clients for one-hour sessions until the end of 2021. I am only accepting new clients under their policies until September 1, 2021.

I am an “out-of-network” provider for all other insurance plans, and you will be subject to my sliding scale for your rates. You pay your standard insurance-mandated copay by cash, check, PayPal or credit card at the time of the session.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay me the day you schedule your appointment via my website. Use any standard credit or debit cards.  The shopping “cart” will automatically add the fee for using the credit or debit card so you’ll see the total of donation, or fee, or copay plus credit card fee when you check out. If you can’t afford to pay for the session at the time you book, please write to me and I’ll see if I can make special arrangements for you to pay the day of the session. In that case, please pay me via cash or check.

Office hours?

Monday through Thursday:  Noon to 8PM.

Fridays: 11AM to 3PM (last appointment available is at 2pm).

No Saturday or Sunday hours are available.

How do I find your office?

The office is in the Buckingham Green shopping complex on Route 202 in Buckingham Township. The address is actually 4936 York Road, Suite 1300 D, in Holicong, PA 18928. My mailing address is P.O. Box 375, Holicong, PA 18928-0375 at the Holicong Post Office. The phone number remains 267-454-8034 and email remains the same and you can contact me online here.

When you see Buckingham Green Center, drive straight back from the traffic light past Silverman Gallery (on your right) and the row of stores. You will find a standalone building, Buckingham Green Two, at the back of the parking lot.   There is a semi-private entrance at the right, back corner of the building (as you face the building).  Once in the door, my office is the first one on the right, Office D.    There are 10 parking spaces right by the door and more within easy walking distances (100 feet or so)!

No Obligation Introductory Consultation

An initial consultation is available, without obligation; the introductory consult is billed at the usual rates, as above.  After our meeting, we will decide if we’re a good fit and should continue working together. To book this in, contact me here.
