Ending the Spiritual Seeking that’s Now CAUSING Suffering

The spirituality we hoped would solve our problems has become a problem!

I spent nearly 55 years on an active spiritual path.  I went from completing work with one teacher, to withdrawing from another who was a narcissist (there were a number of these), to jumping through the hoops of another path.  They all claimed to be the ‘final word’ and the ‘most enlightened enlightenment.’  While there was some benefit in some of what I learned, they never reached an endpoint.  There was always another spiritual school or teacher or healer who would sell me another ‘future’ that was better than the life I was living. No one ever explained what ego-death was or that it is an ongoing de-construction of every belief (beliefs are just thoughts and all thoughts are made up).

Eventually I found someone who taught me the definition of ego-death and brought me to the absolute end of the path.  I don’t have to go to costly retreats every year, keep spending money on my credit card for the next level of enlightenment, do the right practices, eat the right foods, wear the right clothes or anything else.  The ‘me’ that arises is what it is. Done is done.  The Tao that can be spoken is not the Tao. The Tao is between the words, between the concepts, and is NOT conceptual.

In the end ‘me’ is a construct of words and ‘God/Divine/Absolute’ is a construct of words, and ‘enlightenment’ is another construct of words.  Unfortunately enlightenment is usually dangled in front of you by another teacher who wants your money and your worship (or at least your loyalty).  It is much simpler than that. It is simpler than words. It is Simply Awake.
